Welcome to Play to Learn Childcare!
Hi! Thank you for your interest in our childcare center. Whether you are changing childcare or starting childcare for the first time, I understand that it can be overwhelming for both the parents and children involved. Looking for childcare that meets your child’s needs and at the same time finding a provider that you feel you can trust with your child can be nerve-racking. I feel it is very important for the parents and the provider to have a very open and friendly relationship in order to best meet the needs of the children.
At Play to Learn Childcare, the team believes that every child is unique. Each child should receive the opportunity to develop social and emotional skills that will help them grow. Our nurturing childcare environment provides each child one-on-one attention that will help them to learn important life skills such as respecting others, sharing, polite manners, following instructions, responsibility, emotional control, and problem management. We use an emergent curriculum to educate the children of key learning concepts including colors, counting/math skills, and early literacy. An added bonus is vocabulary in english and spanish! We allow children to learn through play and guide them to understand these concepts.
Let me tell you a little bit about my family and myself; I love working with kids, doing many activities, and always making sure learning is fun. I believe in discipline and respect. I’m a very outgoing person, there is never a dull moment! I’m excited to provide quality child care in a comfortable and healthy environment. I am also the proud mother of four beautiful girls and a grandmother (Abuela) to a beautiful little girl too.
Previously, I worked for Stamford Public Schools as a teacher’s assistant for over 5 years. I also worked in 2 separate home daycares as a certified substitute for 3 years, prior to becoming licensed to open my own home daycare and expanded to a childcare center in 2017. I earned my associate’s degree from the University of Bridgeport in 2010.
My vacation policy states that I will take up to two weeks of vacation time per year. I take off one week in December for Christmas Break and the other week is TBD. This time off is pre-scheduled each year and you will be given plenty of notice so you can find back-up daycare. I send out two memos a year to notify you of my vacation time for the upcoming months. I realize the importance of having a dependable daycare provider.
Play to Learn Childcare is closed for New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King’s Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, the 4th of July, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving along with the following Friday, and for Christmas Break: 23rd early dismissal, December 24th through January 1st. I will inform you of any additional planned closures at least two weeks in advance.
Families in our childcare center are happy with the care we provide. We take pride in how satisfied parents are with my service; most families stay with my center until the children leave to attend kindergarten. Although I know it is possible to find a less expensive daycare than mine, I also know that it would be hard for you to find a higher quality center.
Thank you for considering Play to Learn Childcare for your child’s enjoyment and development.
We look forward to working with you and your child!
Sincerely,
Francheska Velazquez
